Using
Ancestry.com
In this all-day, hands-on, workshop we
will look at search techniques for the various databases at
Ancestry.com, including
- census
- newspapers
- passenger lists
- submitted genealogy files
We will also discuss how to view/download/print images. Also provided
will be an overview of the content on Ancestry.com. Our actual use of
databases will be representative of the databases available. Our goal
is to work with all the various search interfaces available on the
Ancestry.com site.
Attendees will have use of all Ancestry.com databases during the day of
the workshop--each attendee will have their own computer. Attendees
will also have one additional day of access to experiment and try out
the techniques acquired during the workshop.
