Tree Maker 2005
In this all-day, hands-on, workshop we
will look at what is new (and not new) in Family Tree Maker 2005. We
will also look at data entry concerns, notes and sources, scrapbooks
(including pictures), charts and trees, and the customization of
reports? Do you know how to have Family Tree Maker print out a list of
everyone in your database born in a certain village? Enrollment is
limited.

Online
Genealogy Search Techniques and Procedures
In this all-day,
hands-on, workshop we will look at effective online search strategies
and see what search options are appropriate to deal with what types of
record and transcription errors. We will look at how to organize
your online research for that new (to you ) ancestor or location so
that your online time is not spent wasted and going in circles. Also
presented will be ways to organize your online searches so that
searches are not repeated or overlooked Enrollment is limited.
Online Maps and Online
Library Card Catalogs (including World Cat)
In this all-day, hands-on, workshop we will look at a
variety of well-known and not so well-known places to get online maps
and geographical data for family history research. We will also see how
to save and print these maps out so that they can actually be viewed.
In our afternoon sessions, demonstration will be made on online library
card catalogs, including WorldCat--OCLC which contains bibliographic
references to millions of materials. We will be able to search
thousands of library card catalogs simultaneously and potentially
locate materials we never knew existed.. Enrollment is limited.
