This one-day workshop will provide attendees with a toolbox of searching procedures that will work on a variety of genealogical websites. A variety of websites will be demonstrated during class (with time for experimentation) to provide students with exposure to a variety of search techniques, including wildcard and Boolean searches. Using Ancestry.com

This one-day workshop will exposure users to the main areas of the Ancestry.com website. Appropriate search techniques for the census, passenger lists, newspapers, and other areas of the site will be covered. The pros and cons of the site will be discussed along with suggestions for follow-up research as warranted. Attendees will have access to the entire Ancestry.com website to use during the workshop.
