1850 Census--Sojourner Truth
Sojourner Truth did not always use that name. She used the last names of Baumfree or VanWaggener as well. The 1850 census taker found her in Northampton, Massachusetts, listed as age 60 and enumerated as Isabelle Vanwaggener. Of course, by 1880 she is indicating she was 104 years of age.
